Heads up: Nick Cave Fixes has just posted a provocative thread: Wild Roses…Kreepy? GO AND POST! Here are some screen caps from the video in question. We’re interested in the growing alienation between EN and NC&tBS fans, which appears to be exacerbated by comments like the one Nick made in a recent Australian TV special on Murder Ballads: “[Blixa's version] was Kreepy witha capital ‘K’ “. So let me get this straight. You toured with this spectacle for how many years, playing on the obvious homoerotic overtones of this interaction, and now you are telling fans it was “KREEPY?” Major pissy statement, Nicky, and not a fun thing to hear (nor is the solo version of ‘The Weeping Song’ - which sounds so bad, I’m embarrassed for you.) WTF? Why, after five years, are these kinds of statements coming out? Be professional and act like men. If the world is so homophobic that Nick Cave thinks that his duet with Blixa, and this 1996 video record of that duet, is “Kreepy” shame on him! The problem of homophobia cannot be understated. Don’t feed that Beast. It’s wrong. Just as it is wrong to make divisive statements about a former, beloved Bad Seed like Blixa. Don’t make us choose between you. It’s childish and this is not a kingdom of loyal serfs. It’s music. We want to love both bands. However… fair warning… we’re tired of this ‘we parted amicably but…’ crap.
