Your cigarette traces a ladder….

Bryan Ferry is to Modern Music as Humphrey Bogart is to Classic Cinema. If you don’t get it, you don’t get it. But you do get it, or else you wouldn’t be here.
Bryan Ferry.
I loved him on sight, on sound, on senses. Loved his tales of doomed enraptured lovers, enslaved by love, in windswept mad embraces, kissing and telling, wearing and tearing, with lipstick and leather, for your pleasure, if your love is strong enough, oh yeah, to bittersweet applause, where nobody spoils … the thrill of it all.
The Ferry Equation: Love = Exquisite Madness.
Decades later, I still love Bryan Ferry best, even though I have been cheating on him for several years with Nick Cave. There’s an animal in me that only Nick can satisfy. But Brian Ferry has my heart. He always will. (That’s probably close to what Jerry Hall said when she left him for that pig, Jagger.)
In devotion to Bryan Ferry and his wonderful music, I offer you the following video selections from YouTube members (thanks mates), dating back to the earliest days. Bryan Ferry solos are mixed right in with Roxy because I don’t feel like over-categorizing this Special Interest page (I do separate the LIVE stuff from music videos).
As with other music pages here, the titles are the links. If there are dead links, please leave a comment and I’ll fix it.
If you find any Bryan Ferry or Roxy Music videos, interviews, or linkable print material, please leave me a note in the comments section. In return, I’ll give you full attribution and undying love. Well, not so much undying love, but you get the idea…
Cheers,
Morgan

Re-Make Re-Model: Becoming Roxy Music
by Michael Bracewell (Author), Da Capo Press; Reprint edition (March 10, 2008)
Book Description: In 1972 an English rock band released its first album to instant critical acclaim: Roxy Music. Here was a group that looked as though it came not only from another era, but also from another planet–a band in which art, fashion, and music would combine to create, in Bryan Ferry’s words, “above all, a state of mind.” Written with the assistance, for the first time, of all those involved, including Bryan Ferry, Brian Eno, Andy Mackay, and Phil Manzanera, Re-Make/Re-Model tells how Pop Art, the 1960s underground, and Swinging London were transformed into a unique sound and look–theatrical, arch, literate, clever, sexy, thrilling. In the tradition of Jean Stein and George Plimpton’s Edie, Re-Make/Re-Model is the story of extraordinary individuals and exceptional creativity–and nothing less than the history of an era in music and pop culture.
