Are you Lost?

LOST is back and getting interesting.  A ‘rescue’ team has finally arrived on the Island.  However, according to the creepy and sinister Ben, “they are not who they say they are.”  Well, that’s par for the course on LOST.

If you follow the show, check out their website.  You’ll find episode recaps, games, a set of rocks glasses with the Dharma Initiative logo, and message boards.  You can even upload your own personal video theory on wtf you believe is really going on.  After watching a few of those, I happy to know I’m not the only viewer obsessed with making meaning of the show’s bizarre plot twists.

Popular opinion seems to be that the Island is in a parallel universe or exists due to a warp in the space-time continuum.  A lot of people are anxious about how this season will end.  It just began, fyi.  One guy said, ‘after watching for four or five years, I don’t want to see the ending be a dream sequence.’ I concur! In fact, if that is their lame-ass plan, the writers and producers had better run for cover.

It’s remarkable how much time/emotion people have invested in this show. I know people who swear they’ll never watch it again after the season finale and then are right back the following year. It’s dope, man. If you are not already a viewer, don’t start. If you do tune in, consider yourself warned.*

LOST miscellany (and some spoilers):

I really enjoyed watching Sawyer kick the snot out of Ben in last night’s episode.  For those who don’t watch (jeez, who ARE you?), Sawyer is the bad-boy hottie in love with Kate.  He’s got a nickname generator on the show’s website.  Mine is SKEETER!

As far as characters go, I’m very much drawn to Desmond’s tortured soul, even though lots of viewers think he’s a mole.  Naah.  Not so sure about his gf Penny.  I consider Sayid to be very sexy.  (I loved him in the English Patient.)  Jack is, well, Jack.  No attraction, just a puzzle.  He’s the key to all of it, you know.

You could’ve knocked me over when Charlie ’came back’ to visit Hugo (who’s now in the nuthouse).  As we’ve come to understand, even death is not final on this show.  BTW: WHO IS IN THAT FREAKIN’ COFFIN?

Well, here’s to my fellow LOST addicts.  See you next week, both on and off the Island.

Yours, Skeeter
