Later that day, at 4 p.m., I will be checking into a shelter for displaced women. 

I did not go to the shelter.  It was not something I felt I could handle either psychologically or emotionally.  Instead, I spent the entire day/evening with friends and had a long-overdue wonderful time.  Yes, I need to find an alternative to the situation I’m in, and soon.  I’m working on resolving it with all of my abilities.
